The End of an Adventure..

And so it came time for Eelco to go back to Europe, and we left Bellingen on Friday 26th March, taking stops for photos all the way…….and resting at Susanne Grace’s farm north west of Kyogle for the night. Susanne is another MEM practitioner, and new friend – especially after the harrowing experience we shared of Salsa going missing the next morning!

A big thank you is due to you Susanne and your wonderful son Jeremy for your support and care. Our overnight visit turned into a 3 night exhausting experience.

Eelco, Susanne, Jeremy, his friend, and I searched all day for Salsa in the hot sun, through paddocks, the creek and adjoining rainforest, the dam, the barn, over and over all day, to no avail.

Early the next morning, exhausted from crying, I made one last quiet search of the paddock where she may have followed the neighbour and his dog as they went in search of stray cattle the previous morning. Quietly listening for breathing and calling her name quietly, I thought I may find her injured and hiding under a rock or bush….or maybe in the long grass – no longer alive….

After an hour or so I heard the quad bike start up and I guessed I was going to be called for breakfast……but Eelco had other news…Salsa wondered up to the clearing near the dam down past the house – looking disorientated, but otherwise in perfect health!!!!!!  To this day it is a mystery.  She was barely dirty, no injuries or even a scratch on her. She won’t go into the sun anymore, so I can guess she got into trouble out in the heat.  Sorry for missing our family Easter celebration everyone! Thank you  Eelco for your constant, consistent care and support.
