Magnetic lifestyle

I haven’t done much like I had planned – generally I have been hiding away from the heat, though the second and third day on the Island has left me with a variety or impressions of ‘Maggie’……the half built concrete buildings and abandoned construction sites, also the natural beauty, humidity, and laid back lifestyle and pace of the community remind me of Caribbean and South American tropical islands I have visited years ago. Yes there are plenty of million dollars residences too – but the best of them are hidden behind the thick tropical gardens and bush….

The birdlife continues to challenge me, the Curlews play the ‘I’m a statue’ trick……and between us we have a Mexican standoff as I try to get a variety of shots, and the eagle is just plain ‘jet speed’ as he swoops to take the meat off the railing each afternoon – even the kookaburras clear out when he flies overhead.  I  WILL get a fantastic action shot of either the sea eagle of kite before I leave – it is breathtaking to watch them swoop at breakneck speed just a metre  in front of me! It’s one hell of a challenge.

This afternoon, dying to take amazing shots, but not prepared to get into trouble with the humidity and heat, I went for a short  leisurely walk through the gardens of the resort….
