Gypsy Trip Out West
Eelco and I decided to have a few days off and head up to Queensland along the New England Highway – definitely the long way home – and the most beautiful. Due to far too many ‘kodak moments” we were still in the Dorrigo mountains 50 – 100 km away from our starting point by afternoon of the first day (in that time we could have arrived in Queensland if we went straight through on the coast road!).
We had a truly country experience staying at the Royal Hotel in Tenterfield overnight and attending the Tenterfield Agricultural show the next day where Eelco was made an honorary Judge at the Sheep & Wool pavilion. We headed off around midday and arrived at Ingrid and Tony’s farm in Silverdale in good time (managed to stay in the car and keep driving).
The sunset drive to Gold Coast for the weekend……
The trip back to Bellingen was direct but still full of photo opportunities
