Cold Showers!

Well I thought I would never enjoy one…..but when the weather is hot enough for long enough a cold shower is bliss. Here on the first day of my Magnetic Island trip, the cloud cover is keeping the air very thick – I can’t work out how this snow bunny keeps finding the endless humid summer….

Fortunately Magnetic Island is so beautiful that 99% of the time I my attention is diverted from the sweat dripping off me…..my new camera will be getting a workout here!

Josephine and Peter manage the All Seasons Resort – an original 35 year old 3 star accommodation, restaurant and conference facility on 10 acres of lovely gardens. It has loads of charm and the hospitality is warm and generous.

My first day on the island included a resort bus ride through all the streets and bays from Nelly Bay on the south east of the island, to Horseshoe Bay on the north side. A long lunch at the award winning ‘Barefoot Art Food Wine’ restaurant, hand feeding  the local kookaburras and sea eagles back at the resort, then off to see the rock wallabies feeding late afternoon on the bay, and a barbeque dinner, finished off the day with LOTS OF PICS! Late evening I watched the curlews doing their mating ritual dancing on the front lawn of my apartment….. what a place!!
